The term "filk" comes from an article which was discussing the folk process (the tendency of folk music to change according to local and personal taste/memory/rendition). The word "folk" was printed as "filk" and the name stuck. Prometheus Music is an excellent source for non-mainstream recordings.</li> <li><a href="http://www.random-factors.com">Random Factors</a> is another online filk-music store.
